"10 tips on break-up
survival
Few things are as devastating as
a messy break-up. Your self-image has been ground into the dust, you feel
ugly and unwanted and you're sure people are talking about you behind your
back. Or even worse, they feel sorry for you.
And there's this ache somewhere between
your stomach and your ribs that just won't go away. Especially after you
saw your ex with the new partner outside the bank this morning. But all is
not lost, even though it feels like it right now.
Take heart.
Life is not
over.
Other people will find you attractive
again.
The awful feeling of sadness will
not last forever.
You could be better off without this
person.
Your finances will
recover.
You can learn from this
mistake.
You'll have more time now to spend
with friends.
You don't have to account for your
movements.
A cheat is going to do it
again.
The best revenge is looking good
and being happy."

Break-Up Survival Guide

Paries
Losing a loved one is never easy. Even
when the loss is your choice, it isn't easy. Whether a person experiences
a break up of a relationship, a death of a loved one, or another powerful
loss, there are predictable stages one goes through, predictable feelings
one feels.
Swiss-born psychiatrist Dr. Elisabeth
Kubler-Ross described the five classic stages of the coping with grief and
loss. According to Kubler-Ross, a person experiencing loss will go through
all of the stages, in any order.
The five stages are:
-
denial
-
resentment
-
bargaining
-
depression
-
acceptance
Loss and subsequent grieving is a powerful,
transformative time. It is a time to take care of yourself, to let go of
the past and to create a future. Unfortunately, many people get stuck in
one of the stages of grief, unable to complete their process and move
on.
If you are experiencing loss and grief
right now, if you have recently ended or are in the process of ending a
relationship, I would like to support you in moving through it in an empowering
way. I've created the following list of suggestions for you to keep handy
to help you cope:
Remember that you...
-
will feel pain
-
have survived this type of pain before
and will this time as well
-
will feel lonely
-
are ok and lovable
Accept that...
-
the relationship is over
-
your ex partner has both good and bad
qualities; do not idealize or discount him/her
Focus on...
-
yourself
-
personal growth
-
self care
Get complete with...
Own...
-
the magnificence of who you
are
-
your part in the relationship
break-up
Give yourself time to...
Make sure that you...
-
get touch, from friends or a body
therapist
-
have someone to come home to sometimes,
like a relative or a friend
Reinvent...
-
your community
-
yourself
-
your future
-
your dreams
If you're experiencing the end of a
short-term relationship, consider the following:
Realize that...
-
the pain you feel is not about your ex
partner, but about your past
-
if you start healing your past, the pain
will subside
-
holding on to anger at an ex partner will
keep you attached and in pain
Get complete with...
-
your ex partner
-
all of your ex partners
-
your parents
Give yourself...
-
room to grieve
-
room to grow
Build for yourself...
-
a community
-
self-esteem
-
a life that you love
Whether you are ending a long-term or
a short-term relationship...
-
don't look for a new relationship until
you are done grieving
-
trust that when ready you will attract
the right partner
-
welcome the pain as an opportunity to
evolve
It's through self-evolution that you
will be able to create the relationship of your dreams.

Breaking Up Is Hard To Do - Break-Up Survival
Tips
By Michael Russel
Some people can get over break-ups easier
than others but most people will go through one or all of these
stages:
Anger, sadness or possibly
denial.
Everyone deals with his or her emotions
differently. Having some remedies handy will help you to get through it the
best way you possibly can.
There are some that might suggest throwing
caution to the wind by eating entire pints of ice cream, drinking tequila
shots, shop till you drop therapy.
But others offer more practical advice
like getting out with friends or practicing yoga. See which break-up antidotes
will work for you.
1. Get a makeover. Try something different
than what you have ever looked like before.
2. Use his picture as a dartboard. Get
that anger out!
3. Going out to eat with
friends
4. See a psychic just for the fun of
it
5. Get a totally hot new
outfit
6. Learn something NEW - Pole dancing,
crocheting, skydiving, whatever
7. Go to the gym, workout, burn off
anger and get really buff doing it.
8. Take a mini vacation if you can.
Something as simple as getting away for a weekend can refresh you while helping
you to see that this is for the best.
9. If you cannot get away for a vacation
then use self tanner to look like you did. You will look totally hot and
every one will think you went on a vacation to the Bahamas or somewhere else
great.
10. Curl up with a blanket and let yourself
cry but for no longer than 60 minutes. Then get up, dry your tears and get
on with getting over him.
11. Get a cool new hairstyle. Try a
totally different color with the corresponding make up changes. If your hair
is long then consider a short haircut for something completely different.
You will have heads turning!
12. Go ahead and do something that he
always HATED to do. If he hated to do the things you used to love and you
stopped doing them to make him happy then start enjoying them again. Remember;
do not give up the things you love for anyone. You lose a part of yourself
when you do that. No man is worth giving up what makes you
happy.
13. Get dressed to the nines, go out
and then Flirt Like Crazy just because you can!
14. Indulge in eating a pint of ice
cream
15. Clean Clean Clean! It gets your
mind off him, burns energy and you have a super clean home for your
efforts.
16. CHOCOLATE! - Need I say
more?
17. Tell him you lied when you told
him that he was the best you have ever had?
18. Long walks on the
beach
19. Learn Yoga
20. Try to remember that some people
are in our life for a reason - to teach us something. Maybe he has taught
you all that he was supposed to and now you can find the person you are meant
to be with.
In conclusion, although breaking up
is hard to do you will get through this and usually your life will end up
better for it. That which does not kill us will make us stronger. This too
shall pass.
Yes, these are all clichés but
they have been around for years and that is because they are true and they
work.
Like the old song says "I will Survive!"
Yes, you really will.
